Nike Soccer made its debut with the Mercurial Series. Widely known for their shoes, Nike was ready to make a name for itself in the world of soccer.

They were immediately given the ultimate test; a partnership with the Brazilian Nation Team. They became an instant success by creating a boot for Brazilian legend Ronaldo to wear. Thus, the Mercurial Series was born in 1971, along with a soccer dynasty.
